Mint Can Making Machine Production Line

Mints tablets will moisturize and refresh your dry mouth and leave your mouth feeling wonderfully clean. You will be attracted by the the decorative mints tablets tin box, it is so nice and beautiful and wondering it will be complicated to make such a wonderful mints tin can. Yes, it is true that there are many steps involved such as tin plate shearing, lid making, bottom making, embossing, can body making, curling, flanging, seaming etc to make such a decorative mints tin can box be be done by slitting/shearing machine, external and inner lid making machine, can body making machine, pressing machine, can seamer. Below is a breakdown of the mints can production line.

Shearing/Slitting machine

The raw material for the mint can is tin plates. The plates need to be sheared into the proper size of a single tin can body, lid and bottom. We have manual tin plate shearing machine, semi automatic motor driven tin plate shearing machine and fully automatic tin plate shearing machine for your option.

External lid making machine

External lid making process is done in two steps on two punching machines operated by two operators. To form the external lid, the first operator puts the blanks sheared in the prior shearing operation on the mould to punch the rudimentary lid in the first time punching. Of course, this can done automatically or our fully automatic press machine too. In the second time punching, the second operator puts the rudimentary lid onto the mould mounted on the press machine where it is pressed to produce a finish external lid.

Inner lid making machine

Inner lid making process is done automatically in two steps by two machines. The firs step is to make the inner lid by a press machine. Operator puts tin plate on the press machine, press the “start” switch, the press machine start to punch the inner lid. Second step to punch “dot” on the body of the inner lid. Ready inner lids are put on the lid sorter. Each lid will be sorted and come out from the chute to the pressing station where the “dot” will be made. Then the pneumatically operated sucking rubber take the inner lid out of the machine.

External lid and inner lid combination

Operators pre-combine the external and inner lid by hand, then the pre-combined external and inner lid will be put on the chute. The operator takes the the pre-combined lid to the tooling mounted on the press machine. The press machine will press the pre-combined external lid and inner lid tightly. Thus, the lids are ready.

Can bottom making machine

Mints can bottom making process comprises of just one punching machine ran by one operator. The operator puts blanks sheared in prior shearing station on the mould by hand. The blanks are punched to form the can bottom. It is that simple. Also it can be done by automatic punching machine.

Embossing machine

The embossing work is done to emboss the client’s logo on the blanks. This will be done by one punching machine by one operator. Blank sheared in the prior shearing station is put on the mould where the punching embosses the design on the blanks. Of course, you can choose automatic punching machine which will performs embossing automatically.

Can body blank punching machine

At this step, The can body punching machine punches the blank with proper size of a single can body. The operator takes the blank onto the tooling, then press the punching machine, the punching machine will punch the blank into small pieces of a single can body. In this step, notching will be done too for easy lock seaming in the subsequent operation. This step can be done by automatic punching machine to save labor cost too if your budget is allowed.

Can body making machine

Can body making process is performed automatically by can making machine. The blanks with proper size of a single can body are stacked on the platform by hand, inserted and pass through group of rollers driven by motor where pre-curling is done, after that blank is take to reciprocating feeding mechanism where the blank is first taken to groove making station where hooks are made on the left and right ends, then taken to forming and lock seaming station where the can body is formed and lock seamed.

Can seame

Before this step, the operators insert the can bottom into the can body, The mint can bottom is pressed by the punching machine to fit in the can firmly. The operator puts the can body onto the mould where the punching machine will press can bottom onto the can body. The station has one punching machine ran by one operator.

Press the Edges Flat

Pressing the edges flat at the bottom aims at giving mints can a cool look and fine edges. The operator puts can body with the bottom on to the mould. The punching machine will press the seamed edges flat tightly. That will make smooth edges for the bottom. The station has one machine and one operator as well.

Top neck curlinge

With the can bottom already in place, the next thing is to start working on the top for the lid. Curling the top neck should be the first thing. The station has a punching machine and an operator. For the top neck curling, the operator will put the seamed can body onto the mould where the punching machine curls the top edges round. Top neck curling removes sharp edges and creates a fine slot for the lid.

Punching hole on the can body to attach lid

The station has one punching machine and an operator. The hole must be punched near the tip for the opening of the lid. The operator put the seamed can body onto the mould and punching machine punches holes on the body. That is where the lid will be attached.

Shaping body

The mints can body is almost complete but needs to be given the right shape. That is why body shaping of the mint can is essential. The station has a punching machine and an operator. The operator put the ready can body into the mould where the punching machine press the mould to shape the can body. That will make the mint can body look more beautiful.

Attach lid onto the can body

This is the last stage in the mints can production line, and it is done manually. The operators insert the needle onto the lids and attach lids onto the can body.
